Moggin' with Tabards - Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard (Leather)

For my next few "Moggin' with Tabards" posts I'll be focusing on Transmogging outfits around the Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard. This tabard can be purchased for 10 gold from San Redscale once reaching exalted with the Order of the Cloud Serpent. (Interestingly, you may also notice that the flavor text on this tabard is a quote straight out of Star Wars.)

I love the colors on this particular tabard, it really is quite gorgeous. Unfortunately when it's paired up with any old gear it just doesn't work - at all. Paired up with some pieces of similar color though, oo la la - it can actually be shown off!

The gear shown below is all fairly easy to aquire as well, minus the shoulders which really rely on having a little bit of good luck. There are some other more easily obtainable shoulders that would look very nice with this mog though; I've listed them further down in this post.

My next "Moggin' with Tabards" transmog is another featuring Tabard of the Explorer; this one is for the plate-wearing classes.

I really enjoyed putting this mog together. I hummed and hawed over a few of the pieces, but ultimately am really happy with what I came up with. Also, I think I am in love with the Scimitar of the Seven Stars model.

Moggin' with Tabards - Tabard of the Explorer (Cloth)

A lot of mogs out there are just plain ruined by tabards, so we keep them off. We leave them tucked away in our banks or we simply delete them. Some of these tabards may have been pretty difficult to get. Heck, you may even have a couple that are not even available in game any more. Well I think these tabards need to be shown off a bit. I believe if you have the right mog to go along with a tabard, you can not only have a really cool looking mog - you can also show that tabard off!

With that being said, this post is the first in a series of posts I plan to do that will be centered around tabards.

This mog featured below is built around the Tabard of the Explorer.

Look like an NPC - Chief Engineer Lorthander Transmog

Ever since I first came across Chief Engineer Lorthander (a level 69 rare spawn in Netherstorm) I thought it would be so neat to have his weapon. His staff looks just like the Staff of Prehistoria - the "key" that used to be required to open the room to Ironya in Uldaman (pre-dungeon finder). Fortunately, not only is his staff model now obtainable and easy to acquire, his entire outfit can be replicated for transmog with little difficulty.

The "Real" Chief Engineer Lorthander
Mages are the only class that will be able to achieve an almost exact replication of his look due to his shoulder & robe color choice (from the mage tier 5 Tirisfal set). Other cloth wearing classes can pull off an incredibly similar look though with some alternative pieces which I've listed below. The alternative models are exactly the same, the difference is in the coloration. The non-mage armor pieces have a bit more orange, where the mage has more red.

Look like an NPC - Thassarian Transmog

I was walking out of the Inn in Stormwind today when something caught my eye. At first I thought an NPC was on the loose visiting the city. Thassarian himself, the first Death Knight to rejoin the Alliance, was standing right there by the mail box! Ok, well maybe not the REAL Thassarian, but boy was I fooled for a moment. Seriously, this guy was spot-on. Not only was his mog an exact replica of what you'll find Thassarian wearing in Acherus, but his hair and beard...and even his name was exactly the same! See for yourself on: Thassarian's Armory link.

Most of the items used for this transmog were farmed out of Normal Trial of the Champion, although a couple of pieces come out of the Heroic version. Thassarian informed me that in order to gain all of the pieces early on he froze his exp at 80 and queued for Trail of the Champion via LFD repeatedly until he got everything he needed. The shoulders he obtained from a friend, but shoulders with the same look can also drop in ToC. It took him about 2-3 weeks total to put the set together.

Items used in this Transmog & Source:

Wapach's Spaulders of Solidarity - Wotlk dungeon trash/raid drop
or (Alternative shoulders) Majestic Silversmith Shoulderplates - Eadric's Cache, Trail of the Champion (Heroic)
Deathchill Cloak - Tailoring (420)
Breatplate of the Imperial Joust - Confessor's Cache/Eadric's Cache, Trail of the Champion (Normal)
Gauntlets of the Stouthearted Crusader - Eadric's Cache, Trial of the Champion (Normal)
Girdle of Arrogant Downfall - The Black Knight, Trail of the Champion (Normal)
or (Alternative belt) Soul-Sealed Belt - from rare spawn Vigdis the War Maiden, Howling Fjord
Legplates of Relentless Onslaught - Confessor's Cache/Eadric's Cache, Trail of the Champion (Normal)
Plated Greaves of Providence - Confessor's Cache, Trail of the Champion (Heroic)
Endbringer - The Black Stalker, Underbog (Heroic) (Thassarian can be found dual-wielding this sword in several different places in game, including: Western Plaguelands, aboard The Skybreaker in Icecrown and in ICC.)

I'd like to thank Thassarian for taking the time to chat with me about this lovely mog. The time and effort put into it totally paid off.
